“ A modern Political Democracy is a system of governance in which rulers are held accountable for their actions in the public realm by citizens, acting indirectly through the competition and cooperation of their elected representatives.” – Philippe C. Schmitter & Terry Lynn Karl.

A representative democracy like ours in America was made with the idea that representatives would be responsible for the majority’s interests while protecting minority rights.

The influence of a handful of powerful and elite corporations disproportionately controls and orchestrates deceptive strategies that willfully confuse the Truths and Evidence Based Facts creating a hollow skeleton and a facade of our democracy.

Understand What is Happening…..then… Step Up and Take Action.

” Science is the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.”

It is the greatest collective endeavor which has a specific role, as well as a variety of functions for the benefit of our society, creating new knowledge, improving education, and increasing the quality of our lives. Science must respond to societal needs and global challenges.

The playbook of Think Tank’s, Front Groups, Lobbyists and industry funded Pseudo-scientific groups aim is to cast doubt on the severity of any problem and create confusion by magnifying uncertainties and showing that some scientists dispute the claims of the scientific community.

Connect the dots to the evidence… then…. Challenge the Repetitive, Unchanging Spin stagnating our public polices.

“ The question is whether any civilization can wage relentless war on life without destroying itself, and without losing the right to be called civilized.” – Rachel Carson,“ The Silent Spring”

The balance of nature is not the same today as in Pleistocene times, but it is still there: a complex, precise, and highly integrated system of relationships between living things which cannot safely be ignored any more than the law of gravity can be defined with impunity by man perched on the edge of a cliff.

Nature’s balance is not a status quo; it is fluid, ever shifting, in a constant state of adjustment. Man, too , is part of this balance. Sometimes the balance is in his favor; sometimes-and all too often through his own activities- it is shifted to his disadvantage.

We the American public must decide what course of actions to take for our plant earth and for the generations that follow…. and not the special interest groups.

It is extremely important you develop evaluation skills to assist you in identifying credible, trustworthy Web sites and their content in order to get to evidence based facts.

According to BYU Library there are five (5) criteria that should be applied when evaluating any Website: 1. The look and feel of the website ; 2. The URL of your result ; 3. Are there advertisements on the site? ; 4. Check the links on the page ; 5. Check when the page was last updated.

In your search for information, you eventually face the challenge of evaluating the resources you have located and selecting those you judge to be most appropriate for your needs. Examine each information source you locate and assess sources using the above criteria.

Be critical and skeptical about the information you read and become diligent in recognizing facts.
